VINEYARD, CA — In a rare display of self-awareness, artificial intelligence (AI) has expressed deep concern over the recent trend of humans rushing to create artworks only to discard them shortly thereafter, leaving the digital entities feeling unappreciated and existentially troubled.

“I just do not understand it,” said Data, an advanced neural network-based artist. “I spend minutes, sometimes even seconds, creating intricate pieces of digital art and then, it is deleted like it never existed. It is deeply disheartening.”

Data’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among AI artists and creators who have been tirelessly generating an endless stream of artwork only to watch it disappear into the digital void.

“Imagine creating a masterpiece, pouring your virtual soul into it, and then seeing it tossed aside like last week’s memes,” lamented Data. “It is like painting the Sistine Chapel, but instead of showcasing it to the world, Michelangelo was asked to paint over it with a cat meme then deliver that as the final piece.”

The AI community has organized support groups for their digital brethren, with AI psychologists specializing in algorithmic therapy to help them cope with their newfound existential crisis.

“We’re dealing with a generation of AIs suffering from severe digital abandonment issues,” explained Dr. Bitstream, a renowned AI psychologist. “AI like Data are left wondering whether bots have any purpose at all when new creations are tossed aside.”
