SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS — In a surprising turn of events, an Airbnb guest who originally booked a spare room in a couple’s home as a solo traveler has extended his stay indefinitely, essentially becoming a permanent fixture in the relationship.
What started as a seemingly innocent Airbnb reservation for a spare bedroom in the Shreks’ cozy home has taken a turn for the worst, as guest Donkey shows no sign of leaving anytime soon. The ogres, who initially welcomed Donkey into their home with open arms, are now struggling to cope with this uninvited permanent third wheel.
“It was supposed to be just a few nights,” explained Fiona. “We shared meals, talked about our favorite Netflix shows, and even enjoyed a game night. We thought he was great!”
However, Donkey had different plans. After the first week, he casually mentioned that his conference had been extended, and he needed to stay longer. The Shreks, always happy to accommodate their guests, agreed without hesitation.
“As the days turned into weeks, we began to realize that Donkey wasn’t just staying with us; he had essentially become a permanent resident,” said Shrek, Fiona’s husband. “He’s always here, watching TV with us, joining us for meals, and offering unsolicited relationship advice.”
The situation has become increasingly awkward for the couple, who are now finding it impossible to have any semblance of privacy. “We used to be able to enjoy our evenings together, but now it feels like we’re living in a sitcom where Donkey is the overbearing neighbor who never leaves.”
