PALO ALTO, CA — In an unexpected twist, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday that he now identifies as a Libertarian following an eye-opening encounter with a group of Lilliputians in the Metaverse.
Speaking at a press conference in the Meta headquarters, Zuckerberg explained that the experience had led him to “fundamentally reconsider everything” about governance, freedom, and digital autonomy.
“I was just casually exploring a virtual realm, you know, like I always do. And then—all of a sudden—I met a bunch of tiny, self-sufficient people who refused to be governed by anyone. It was amazing,” said Zuckerberg.
“They basically told me that their only law is ‘Don’t tread on anyone’s crops,’” Zuckerberg recalled, “and that they’d rather build their own bridges than let some central government tell them how to do it. It was profound. In that moment, I knew—I wasn’t a tech CEO anymore. I was a Libertarian.”
